The Rule of Asking

Sealed Wax

A sealed envelope tells you who may read the letter. This page does that for your conversations.

What we keep

  • Your sign-up details: an email address, a salted hash in place of your password, a first name, a birth date, a gender line and any text you place on your floor page.
  • Every thread you open, and the notes she takes about you so that she has something to remember.
  • Two cookies: one holds your session, the other records that you passed the lobby gate.
  • Payment entries holding an amount and a transaction reference. Since we take no cards, no card number can ever reach us.
  • Routine server logs, discarded after a short while.

What we use it for

Messages go to a language model that runs on our own machines or at a vendor bound by the same terms, and software screens read them for safety. That is the whole of it: no sale, no advertiser, no profile built for anyone else.

Counting visitors

We run a plain visit counter that tallies arrivals and their countries. It has no view of what anyone writes.

Your controls

Each thread menu lets you read and edit her notes, take away a transcript or erase it. To remove the account entire, write from its registered email to the footer mailbox. If your local law gives you extra rights, say so and we will act on them.
